Puri Jagannadh called Punith Rajkumar as ‘Mani of Kannada Cinema’, which is ahead of Appu re-too
Kannada Superstar’s first film in the lead role as an adult, Appu, the late Punya Rajkumar, is re -continuing across Karnataka on the 50th birth anniversary of the actor. Directed by Puri Jagannadh, the college romance film was a big hit on release in 2002.

In honor of Puneet Rajkumar’s 50th Gent Anniversary, his first film in a leading role as an adult, Appu is being re -released in Karnataka on a grand scale. Appu is a 2002 college romance film directed by Telugu filmmaker, Puri Jagannadh. The film starred actress Rakshitha as well as Punith Rajkumar as a Titular character, who also made her debut with the film.
In a post on X, Puri Jagannadh revealed that Kannada superstar Shiv Rajkumar, Puneath’s elder brother, the film was introduced physically. He wrote, “I should thank Shivna, because he had an Appu film.” Shivna introduced me to the great prince and Parvatamma. In this way I met the beautiful soul, Punith Rajkumar (SIC). ,

He added, “He was a multi-talented person who was a gem of Kannada cinema due to dedication to social reasons (SIC).” With this message, he urged fans to see Appu’s re -release in theaters to celebrate “a great person and a great soul”.
Appu was originally released in theaters on 26 April 2002. The film became a major success at the box office, which was running for more than 200 days and strengthened the position of Punith Rajkumar as a promising leading hero in the Kannada film industry. After the film’s release, Appu Naam became synonymous with Puneet Rajkumar across Karnataka.

Appu is designed to re -release in Karnataka on March 14, 2025, in honor of Puneth’s 50th birth anniversary, which falls three days later.
Puneeth Rajkumar died on October 29, 2021 after the arrest of the heart at the age of 46. He was a legend in Kannada and Indian cinema. Rajkumar had the youngest son.
