Veteran Hindi filmmaker Salim Akhtar died on 8 April. The departed manufacturer was known for hits like flowers and ensers (1993) and Kayamt (1983). The cause of his death has not been revealed.

Salim Akhtar is alive by his wife Shama Akhtar and his son, Samad Akhtar.

Salim launched Rani Mukherjee in 1997 with Raja’s Aygi procession. He also launched Tamanna Bhatia with a moon -like light in 2005.
He also included other major films like Badal (2000) with Bobby Deol and Rani Mukherjee, Phool and Angar (1993) with Mithun Chakraborty, and Bazi (1995) with Aamir Khan.

Other notable works of Akhtar include Choron Ki Barat (1980), Loha (1987), Batwada (1989), Baazi (1995), Izzat (1968), and others.
