Prithviraj and Malayalam celebs honored at Kerala State Film Awards Presentation

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan presented the Kerala State Film Awards (2023) at Thiruvananthapuram on Wednesday. Prithviraj Sukumaran, Urvashi and many others were honored for his extraordinary work.

Prithviraj Sukumaran, Urvashi and many other Malayalam celebrities and films were honored in the Kerala State Film Awards.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan presented the Kerala State Film Award 2023 at Thiruvananthapuram on Wednesday. The 54th Kerala State Film Awards were announced on August 16, 2024, and who are the Malayalam industry in attendance at the presentation ceremony. Prithviraj Sukumaran won the best actor for ‘Manjivitha’, while veteran actors Urvashi and Benna R. Chandran shared the Best Actress award.

While Mammuti’s ‘Kathhal – The Core’ won the best film, Prithviraj Sukumaran’s ‘Manjivitha’ received nine honors. For the award ceremony, Prithviraj was seen in a crisp white kurta and dhoti honoring his tradition.

Apart from him, director Ashirwad, Sound designer Rezul Pookutty, director Jio Baby, actor Jujo George, Roshan Matthew and Sangeet Pratap were honored for his work.

Apart from others, many films including ‘Thadavu’, ‘O Baby’, ‘Chaver’ and ‘2018’ won the top honors given by the state government. About 160 Malayalam films were in controversy.

Veteran director Shaji N Karun was awarded the prestigious Jesse Daniel Award for his contribution to Malayalam cinema. He received 5 lakh rupees, a statue and a certificate of honor.

At the presentation ceremony, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan addressed the increasing threat to freedom of expression in the field of art. He also encouraged Malayalam artists to continue good work.

Minister V Sivonkutty, KN Balgopal, K Rajan, Mayor Arya Rajendran, District Panchayat President D. Suresh Kumar, Director of Cultural Department Dr. Iyer of Divya, Jury Sudhir Mishra, President of Film Award, Jury, President of Writing Department, Dr. Janaki Sainharan presented the event.
