Pregnant Samantha shoots mother Inti Bangaram car chase, director calls her superstar

Director Nandini Reddy said that Samantha Ruth Prabhu filmed the Thasadiya song and a car chase scene for mother Inthi Bangaram during her pregnancy. He described him as a superstar as the film is heading towards earning Rs 100 crore globally.

After the actor hinted at her pregnancy during the film’s success celebrations and confirmed it a few days later, director BV Nandini Reddy has now said that Samantha shot parts of the film, including a song and a car chase, while she was pregnant.

in an interview with Hindustan TimesNandini said that Samantha was filming the song Thassidia When she came to know about the pregnancy. He said that the song involved energetic dance movements and that the team still had a car chase scene to shoot, although most of the physically demanding parts had already been completed by then.

Nandini said that the team took extra precautions while filming the remaining portions. He said, “We took care that it was not too difficult for him and that he got enough breaks. It was also not shot in bright sunlight because we were going to be shooting in the summer. We were careful to ensure that he did not get too tired.”

Mother Inti Bangaram Samantha’s first major box office success since 2021. Soon after her separation from Naga Chaitanya and subsequent divorce, she was diagnosed with myositis and was away from work for some time. His later projects, Shakuntalam And KushiShe did not connect with audiences in the same way, but she continued to work through her illness and pregnancy.

Praising the actor, Nandini said, “He is a superstar in every aspect. His performance, his humour, his emotions, his action, his dancing. I mean, he has done it all. Our effort was to show him in his full glory. We knew it would do magic for the film because he is so loved.”

He added, “She looks small, but she has really broad shoulders, which makes her carry things surprisingly well. We all worked together towards one goal during the shoot – that is to elevate our protagonist, Samantha, in the best possible way. And I think everyone was game for that, so it was fun.”

The film also created a box office record by becoming the highest-grossing female-led Telugu film. With a worldwide gross of over Rs 80 crore, it has overtaken the lifetime collection of Anushka Shetty’s 2009 horror-fantasy film. ArundhatiWhich earned around Rs 70 crore. Made on a reported budget of Rs 20 crore, the film was dubbed and released in Tamil under Samantha’s banner, Tralala Moving Pictures.

The producers stated that a large portion of the budget had already been recovered through non-theatrical rights before the theatrical release on 19 June.

In 2025, Samantha married director-writer Raj Nidimoru at Isha Yoga in Coimbatore. During the promotion of the film, she confirmed her pregnancy and said that she would be taking a maternity break.
