In an emotional note, the 39-year-old actor admitted that he spent the days leading up to the release questioning everything. Was someone talking about the movie? Was the promotional material reaching the audience? did people even know Mother Inti Bangaram Was issuing?
Then he remembered overhearing the conversation with himself.
A friend had called an exhibitor at B-Center to ask how the film might perform at the box office. As Samantha wrote, the response was clear: “Why would anyone watch a heroine’s film? If it’s in a big hero film, it’s fine. People know her for the glamour. But a heroine-led film? Who will come? Nobody.”
