Prakash Raj supports Sonam Wangchuk, questions delay in Dharmendra Pradhan’s exit

Actor Prakash Raj reacted to activist Sonam Wangchuk ending her 26-day fast, calling her the “conscience of the country”. He also raised questions on the delay in the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
In a post on X, Raj reacted to Wangchuk’s announcement of breaking his fast and raised separate questions on Pradhan. His remarks focused on Wangchuk’s sacrifice and the continued delay in the minister’s resignation.

Responding to Wangchuk, Raj wrote, “Thank you @wangchuk66 sir for your sacrifice and being the conscience of the nation..(sic).”
In another post he asked, “Why are they delaying Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation.. Is the Education Minister more powerful than the Prime Minister #JustAsking (sic).”
Prakash Raj was among the Indian film actors who joined the Cockrose Janata Party (CJP) student-led protest at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi. The actor also supported Wangchuk on his hunger strike demanding justice for students affected by the NEET paper leak, which triggered a nationwide discussion on the education system.
Apart from Prakash Raj, actor-couple Riteish and Genelia Deshmukh, veteran actors Naseeruddin Shah and Shabana Azmi, actors Bhumi Pednekar, Nandita Das and others also supported the youth-led protest.
Actor Salman Khan also expressed his support towards the students who participated in the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) protest at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar. Although the 60-year-old did not explicitly mention the name of the group in his social media post, he praised the students for peacefully demanding a better education system.
In his long post shared on Instagram on Wednesday, Salman described the paper leak as a “very serious issue”. He appreciated the students for coming together for the reforms and thanked the parents for standing with them.
Wangchuk, who recently ended his fast, revealed that the Center assured him that Parliament will discuss the NEET-UG paper leak and exam reforms, and that no legal action will be taken against the peaceful protesters.
