Prakambanam, starring Manjummel Boys fame Ganapathy and Pani actor Sagar Surya in the lead roles, was released on January 30, 2026. Now, the film is all set to start online streaming as well. here are the details.
Prakambanam OTT release
Prakambanam is set to stream on OTT platform ZEE5 from March 14, 2026. The official update was shared by the platform through its social media handles.
Sharing the update, the team wrote, “Inni Pottichirayude Naalukal… (Days of hearty laughter ahead…) Prakambanam Malayalam is now streaming on ZEE5.”

Official Trailer and Storyline of Prakambanam
Prakambanam is the story of three college friends, Sidhu, Punyaalan and their partner, who live in a men’s hostel and spend their days immersed in mischief and campus politics. Siddhu is assigned the task of taking his late grandmother’s ashes to Kashi for cremation, but to avoid embarrassment in the hostel, he hides the ashes in a small powder bottle.
Trouble begins when Punyalan mistakenly assumes that the bottle contains an illegal substance and swallows the ashes. Soon after, he starts behaving strangely and appears to be possessed by the spirit of Sidhu’s conservative and judgmental grandmother. Behaving like an old-fashioned matriarch, she starts scolding the students and enforcing moral discipline in the hostel.
As the friends try to deal with the bizarre possession, their lives turn into a series of chaotic and comical situations, made even more complicated by the ongoing college election.
Prakambanam cast and crew
Prakambanam stars Ganapathy, Sagar Surya and YouTube content creator Al Ameen in lead roles. Apart from him, the film also stars Mallika Sukumaran, Sheetal Joseph, Rajesh Madhavan, Azis Nedumangad, Kalabhavan Navas, Alexander Prashanth and PP Kunhikrishnan among others in lead roles. Additionally, director Lal Jose makes a cameo appearance in the film.
The film is directed by Vijesh Panathur, while Srihari Vadakkan has written the story. It is produced by Srijith KS, Karthakeyan S and Sudheesh N under the banner of Navarasa Films and Stone Bench Studios.
Bibin Ashok composed the songs, while Shankar Sharma composed the background score. Albie Antony handled the cinematography, with Suraj ES serving as editor.
The film received positive reviews from critics and is considered to be a successful venture at the box office.
