After launching Android 15 in October last year, Google is now working on its next project. In just 3 months, the company can debut with the beta version of Android 16. There is speculation that Google will release the first beta version of Android 16 this month. That said, a new leak reveals the launch dates of the upcoming beta version. It seems that Google will launch the second and third beta versions in February and March respectively. While the stable version release is still a secret, after this leak we can assume that it may launch before Android 15.
Android 16 beta version launch dates
According to the latest leak spotted by Android Authority, Google is set to release beta versions of Android 16 before it launches a stable version. The information comes from a comment on Android Gerrit, where a Google employee, most likely, shared tentative release dates for the Android 16 beta. According to the comment, Beta 3 is expected to be released on March 12.
While leaks suggest that the first beta version of Android 16 is scheduled for January 22, there is no official notification yet. Similarly, Beta 2 is expected to arrive on February 19th.
More importantly, this new information suggests that Android 16 could achieve platform stability by mid-March, setting the stage for Beta 4 to arrive in April or May, potentially by the end of Q2. First with a stable release. Although that may still take a few months, that’s before the mid-October rollout of Android 15 last year.
Android 16: what to expect
Android 16 came into limelight a few days ago for its upcoming features. Rumor has it that the upcoming OS may feature revised volume controls, a faster UI, and increased accessibility.
