Arshad Warsi’s ‘Joker’ comment on Prabhas’ acting in Kalki 2898 AD has created a massive controversy. Meanwhile, MAA (Movie Artistes Association) president Vishnu Manchu sent a letter to CINTAA (Cine & TV Artistes Association) president Poonam Dhillon, highlighting the hurt caused by the actor’s comment. In response, the veteran actress has ensured a response from Warsi to seek his reaction on the same.
In a recent interview to Hindustan Times, CINTAA president Poonam Dhillon admitted that Arshad Warsi’s recent comments have caused “a bit of unpleasantness” especially in the Telugu industry. Following this, they are writing a letter to Warsi and taking feedback on it.
After receiving the letter from MAA president Vishnu Manchu, Dhillon expressed his concern about the film industries staying united. He also pointed out that Arshad did not target Prabhas in his comments.
She added, “Although I believe he may not have said this against Prabhas; it may be against the character in the film, I would still like him to clarify and if necessary compensate for the hurt caused to the artistes of the Telugu industry, because we are all one industry.”
Dhillon further said that the Kalki 2898 AD actor is one of the most decent, nice and respectable people in the industry. She expressed her confidence in him by saying that she did not intend to hurt him as a person. The veteran actress added that all industries are a big part of entertainment and this episode should not be blown out of proportion.
Furthermore, Poonam also commented that they will let Arshad clarify his stand as she cannot speak on his behalf. Dhillon in a closing note said, “I would like to believe that as an actor, he would not make such comments about someone who is so respected and loved.” Dhillon is expected to respond to Manchu’s letter as well.
In a letter to Poonam Dhillon, Manchu urged CINTAA to advise Warsi to refrain from making such comments about fellow actors in the future. He stressed the importance of maintaining dignity and respect for colleagues regardless of regional affiliation and reminded everyone that the film industry is one big family united by a shared passion for cinema.
