Introduction

The Poco M8 Pro is now official and it’s shaping up to be a solid mid-range offering. Even if it doesn’t bring groundbreaking updates, the M8 Pro is still a potential battery champion, with a 6,500mAh cell capable of 100W charging.

Poco M8 Pro review

The M8 Pro features a 6.83-inch AMOLED with 1,280p, 12-bit color depth, 120Hz refresh rate, and Dolby Vision and HDR10+ streaming support. It is powered by a Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chip with 5G and Wi-Fi 6E connectivity.

The phone has received IP66 and IP68 ratings in Europe, while in the rest of the world it also gets IP69 and IP69K certification.

We don’t blame you if you’re suffering from déjà vu. This new Poco is a repackaged Redmi Note 15 Pro+ with a different main camera. While the 15 Pro+ has a 200 MP OIS primary, the Poco M8 Pro borrows its main imager from the Poco F8 Pro – a 50MP OIS camera. The 8MP ultrawide and 32MP selfie cameras are the same as the Redmi.

Xiaomi Poco M8 Pro • Xiaomi Redmi Note 15 Pro+

Never mind the similarity to the Redmi series, the Poco M8 Pro brings enough improvements over the Poco M7 Pro to be called a proper upgrade – better intrusion security, a larger and higher-resolution screen, more powerful hardware, better cameras, and of course, a stronger battery with faster charging. It also supports 22.5W reverse wired charging!

It’s just that we’re not sure if we really need more Redmi Note 15 offspring – there are too many anyway.
