Actors Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna recalled a touching moment from the days before their wedding, revealing that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had written heartfelt letters to the couple’s respective parents after meeting them.
Vijay and Rashmika got married earlier this week in an intimate ceremony held near Udaipur, which was attended by only close family and friends. Before the wedding, the actors met Prime Minister Modi to seek his blessings, a meeting Vijay described as warm and deeply meaningful.

Sharing details of the conversation, Vijay said that the conversation was beyond formalities. “A few days ago, we met the honorable Prime Minister and took his blessings. We had a great time talking about our history, architecture and stories. He also wrote the sweetest letter to my parents,” the actor recalled.

During this time, the couple also met Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Vijay described the conversation as equally personal, noting that they discussed culture and cinema. He said Shah gifted him a Ganesha idol, which now holds a special place in his prayer room.

After their wedding in Udaipur, Vijay and Rashmika announced their union by sharing pictures from the ceremony on Instagram. The post went viral within hours and became the most liked wedding announcement ever made by an Indian account on the platform, breaking records.
In an emotional note along with the pictures, Vijay wrote about finding comfort and a feeling of home in Rashmika and described her as his best friend and partner. The message impressed fans and further fueled online discussion around the wedding.
After the ceremony, the newlywed couple returned to Hyderabad on 27 February. A grand reception will be organized for friends from the film industry in his hometown on March 4.
