Playback singer Kalpana Raghavendra attempted suicide, hospitalized in Hyderabad
Playback singer Kalpana Raghavendra attempted suicide at his residence in Hyderabad on Tuesday. He is currently in a hospital receiving treatment.

Popular playback singer Kalpana Raghavendra attempted suicide on 2 March at his Nizampet, Hyderabad residence. It is reportedly believed that the singer consumed sleeping pills. According to reports, he was found unconscious at his residence and was taken to the hospital for treatment. The singer is currently stable and is on ventilator support.
This was an apartment security that alerted the residents after Kalpana, did not open its door for two days. His neighbors approached the police, after which appropriate procedures were followed. The exact cause behind his suicide attempt is unknown.
Kalpana’s husband was in Chennai at the time of the incident. He reached Hyderabad after hearing the news.
Kalpana is the daughter of renowned playback singer TS Raghavendra. He participated in Star Singer Malayalam and won the title in 2010. After his victory, he collaborated with many notable musicians, including Ilaiyaraja and AR Rahman. Going through a music family, he started his career at the age of five.
In his long career, he has recorded over 1,500 songs in many languages. In addition to singing, Kamal Haasan-Starr in Kalpana had a brief acting term with a cameo in Punnagai Mannan.
Kalpana participated in Bigg Boss Telugu season 1, hosted by Junior NTR. Some of his recent famous songs include AR Rahman’s Kodi Parakura Kalam and Telangana Tejam from Keshav Chandra Ramvath. She has also been a judge in the singing-based reality show.
