Although the official teaser posted on X doesn’t reveal much about the device, there are several rumours and leaks doing the rounds online. Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold: Confirmed design

The official teaser shows a stunning design with a dual-pill-shaped camera cutout. The cameras are housed on a rectangular island at the top-left corner of the rear panel. The external display will have a punch-hole camera at the centre of the top-notch, and will also follow a similar bezel size. While the frame and hinge of the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold have a metallic look, the back panel may be plastic. The hinge of the Pixel 9 Pro Fold has a new design, which is more reminiscent of the OnePlus Open than its predecessor.

The company has also confirmed that the upcoming device will be deeply integrated with Google AI, Gemini. It is worth noting that the launch of Google’s AI integrated phone is happening before Apple’s iPhone 16 series, which is expected to come with Apple intelligence.

Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold: Leaks

Although the teaser doesn’t reveal the camera on the inner screen, rumours suggest that the phone will have a punch-hole camera on the left side of the screen, a design upgrade from the bezel-mounted camera of the first Fold, made possible due to the reduced bezel size. This new device is also expected to have a much bigger display than its predecessor Google Fold. The inner display is rumoured to be 8 inches in size, which is an improvement from 7.4 inches on the first foldable.

This new display will reportedly have a resolution of 2152 x 2076, a peak brightness of 1,600 nits, and support a 120Hz refresh rate. The first Google Fold had a dimmer display at 1,000 nits.

The Pixel 9 Pro Fold is also expected to be thinner and lighter than the original Pixel Fold.

Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold: Expected price

The Pixel 9 Pro Fold, the successor to the original Pixel Fold, could be available in Obsidian and Porcelain colour options. The expected price of this foldable device is EUR1,899 (roughly Rs. 1,68,900) for the 256GB model and EUR 2,029 (roughly Rs. 1,80,500) for the 512GB model.
