Kash Patel embroiled in a war of words with Democrat Senator Sheldon Whitehouse
FBI Director Kash Patel clapped back at Democrat Senator Sheldon Whitehouse, as the senator hinted that Patel will soon have to face the music as the cases against him continue to mount. Patel immediately responded and revealed an old scandal of the Whitehouse family as they were tied to an exclusive beach club that did not allow anyone except whites. Controversy over the rule arose in 2021 when the senator apologized that club leaders were working on a diversity issue and regretted that the issue was not addressed earlier. Listing only the FBI’s work in Rhode Island in 2025, Patel wrote, “How about that private beach club of yours that doesn’t let people who look like me in? I’m the guy who knocks on the front door, sees if you open… Meanwhile this FBI is crushing violent crime for people of every color in Rhode Island.” The senator shared a Politico article to criticize Patel because the article claimed that three FBI agents had sued the agency after being fired and accused Patel and Pam Bondy of waging a “retaliation campaign” against them for their involvement in the Capitol riot investigation. “Patel, fourth trial (he must testify); lies to Congress; jets and partying at our expense – his day will come,” the senator wrote. Kash Patel has been one of the most closely watched Trump officials in the administration so far. His love life remained in the headlines, while his personal use of the FBI jet, attending numerous sporting events, aroused controversy. Recently, his personal email account was hacked by the Iran-linked group Handala Hack Team. He shared old photographs, biodata of Patel and said that this is just the beginning. The FBI said the leak caused no harm to the government because it contained no government information and only contained old photos of the director. Another major fallout was when Patel’s deputy Dan Bongino resigned from his post and at that time Patel’s position in the administration was also in doubt. But Patel left them all behind and now that his boss Pam Bondi is likely to be fired for her handling of the Epstein case that vexed the president, Patel is likely to remain untouched by the major reshuffle coming soon.
Senator Whitehouse’s ‘whites only’ private club
In 2021, it was reported that Bailey’s Beach Club in Newport allows only white members. Whitehouse said at the time that this was not true and that he was surprised by the question from a local website. He said, “A representative from a local website recently surprised me by asking me about diversity at a beach club where I have family members. I was attending an unrelated event and was not prepared for the question. At the time, I made the mistake of accepting her premise.” “I then checked the claim and was assured that, first, the claim was false, the membership is diverse and there are non-white club members; and second, improving diversity is a priority and an active task for the club’s new board.”
