Actor, Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan was discharged from Mumbai’s Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital on Wednesday, four days after undergoing surgery on his right shoulder. Doctors confirmed that he is recovering and is fit to leave the hospital. His wife Anna Konidala shared the update on Instagram, thanking the doctors and medical team for their care.

After his discharge, the actor-politician went to his residence in Hyderabad, where he will continue his recovery under medical supervision.

Pawan Kalyan was admitted to the hospital on Saturday after doctors recommended surgery due to a severe injury to the rotator cuff muscle of his right shoulder. The procedure, which lasted about three and a half hours, was performed by a team led by renowned orthopedic surgeon Dr Dinshaw Pardiwala.

Doctors have advised the Jana Sena Party chief to take complete rest for the next three weeks before starting physiotherapy. The medical team expects the operated shoulder to return to normal strength and function in about four months, provided he follows the prescribed recovery plan and avoids putting pressure on it.

His wife Anna Konidala shared pictures from the hospital after his discharge and expressed gratitude towards the doctors and medical staff who treated him.

She wrote on Instagram, “Today, we are finally discharged from the hospital, and our hearts are full of gratitude. Heartfelt thanks to this incredible team for taking such exceptional care of my husband and performing his surgery with the highest level of skill and professionalism. We knew he was in the best hands, and that gave our family something priceless – peace of mind.”

He added, “Thank you not only for your expertise, but also for your kindness, dedication and compassion throughout this journey. We will be forever grateful.”

According to Jana Sena Party, Pawan Kalyan was suffering from persistent shoulder pain since 2016. The injury gradually worsened over the years due to his political and business commitments. During the surgery, doctors also discovered an avulsion fracture in his right shoulder.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu met Pawan Kalyan in the hospital after the procedure and expressed confidence in his recovery. “He is recovering very well and we are confident that he will recover soon,” Naidu said.

Doctors have also recommended physiotherapy and strengthening exercises for Pawan Kalyan’s left shoulder, which also has a rotator cuff injury. His condition will be reviewed after six months to determine if any additional treatment is needed.

For now, the actor-politician is expected to stay away from his political engagements and public appearances as he focuses on rehabilitation.
