Patriot starring Mammootty and Mohanlal is set to release on the big screens on May 1, 2026. Directed by Mahesh Narayanan, the makers are expected to unveil the trailer soon. Ahead of the trailer launch, the lead actors and the director were seen together, with the Pushpa actor sharing a selfie.

Taking to their social media handles, Fahadh Faasil Shared a selfie with Mammootty and Mohanlal. Apart from the superstar, the picture also stars Kunchacko Boban, Thudram fame Prakash Varma, Rajeev Menon, director Mahesh Narayanan and composer Sushin Shyam.
Sharing the post, the actor captioned it, “Varunnundhu”, which translates to “We are coming”, hinting at the trailer launch event taking place on April 4, 2026.

Patriot is an upcoming espionage action drama that revolves around a controversial intelligence mission. With Mammootty and Mohanlal leading the project, the film marks the reunion of these stalwarts of Malayalam cinema after almost a decade.
Apart from the two superstars, the film also stars Kunchacko Boban, Fahadh Faasil, Nayanthara, Rajeev Menon, Revathi and others in lead roles. The film’s music and background score is composed by Sushil Shyam.
Mammootty and Mohanlal’s workfront
Mammootty Recently completed the shooting of his film Padayatra directed by veteran filmmaker Adoor Gopalakrishnan. Looking ahead, the actor is currently working on his part in Dhanush-starrer D55. Additionally, Mammootty has Mattancherry Mafia, a film with Nitish Sahdev and another project in his lineup with Cubes Entertainment.
On the other hand, Mohanlal He will next be seen in the lead role in Drishyam 3. Directed by Jeethu Joseph, the crime thriller will be the third installment in the franchise and is expected to release on May 21, 2026, coinciding with the superstar’s 66th birthday.
The actor is currently shooting for the tentatively titled L366 directed by Tharun Murthy. Leighton also has films with director Priyadarshan and director Vishnu Mohan. Additionally, he will play cameo roles in Jailer 2, Caliphate: Part 1, Kathanar: The Wild Sorcerer and Thudakkam.
