A favourite for many in India, rajma rice is known to be a comforting and affordable dish. However, recently it became a topic of discussion on social media for a different reason. A Reddit user expressed his displeasure over a plate of rajma rice he got at Delhi’s Terminal One airport. Disappointed with his entire experience, he shared a long post on the platform, calling his experience with SpiceJet “the worst flight experience ever”. The user wrote, “I reached Delhi airport’s T3 terminal to catch my flight which was scheduled at 10:30 am. I reached early hoping to use the lounge but guess what, the lounge is under renovation so there is no way to get there. But still it’s not too bad, right? I can go and eat in a food store?”

He also highlighted the expensive menu at the airport terminal. He wrote, “However, there are only 3 food stores in the whole terminal, which are very expensive. Let me share some examples of the menu. Tea – Rs 200, Coffee – Rs 300, Rajma rice – Rs 400 (smaller quantity than the smallest bowl you have at home) Burger – Rs 300 (this was the cheapest one by the way) Medu Vada – Rs 300 (for three pieces).” The man also mentioned that he did not find any place to sit and eat near the food stores.

Another said, “I always eat a good meal before I board a flight. Be it from home or in the lounge. This way I don’t have to worry about the prices of food at the airport or on the flight as I don’t worry about eating them.”

“You should bring food from home instead of whining about airport food prices. Airport food is the most expensive in the world. It’s like coming to the beach and whining about the sand,” one comment read.

One person commented, “That’s why I always carry a big hoodie and a glass to make my own premix tea. The bag contains more food than clothes. I can’t travel peacefully if I don’t have enough food in my trolley.”
