Parvati shared her grief on Instagram Stories, writing, “Sunita was murdered. Sunita didn’t just die. She was murdered. I have since learned that one of the sweetest, kindest women I have ever met was murdered while she resisted attempts to sexually assault her by her killer. Who was her employer. Who has still not been arrested and brought to justice. But what? We are also surprised? Sharing the news link on the next slide. Please get excited and angry.”
In another post, she wrote, “Sunita is survived by her loving husband and her 4-year-old son and 167 dogs that she rescued and took care of. She was attacked multiple times during the rescue. She survived knife attacks, third degree burns and what not. She took this job because her killer offered her a salary at his dog shelter. She took the job because it allowed her to support her family and the dogs she rescued.” Will it help to take care of him? What drove him to murder? I can’t process it.”
Parvati also shared a crying video and said, “This man killed her because he couldn’t attack her. And this is not his first time, and this will not be his last time. What a safe country for our girls. Why do we still need feminism?”
The accused has been identified as Deepak Krishnan, a Bengaluru-based Malayali who runs the shelter. Reports say he allegedly violently attacked Sunita, repeatedly hitting her head on the wall and cupboard and hitting her on the chest. Police also said that when other women tried to intervene he threatened them with a knife.
according to OnmanoramaSunita’s husband Sinto said that one of the women who witnessed the incident informed him over the phone, following which a complaint was lodged with the Vadanappalli police. The matter came to light when Vadanappalli police contacted Bengaluru police. He also said that an audio recording has emerged in which the speaker, purportedly Deepak, has admitted to attacking Sunita and taking her to the hospital in an ambulance. Thrissur East police had earlier registered a case in connection with the incident.
