Paris Olympics 2024: Deepika Padukone, Alia Bhatt and others cheer for Team India
Bollywood celebrities have taken to social media to show their support for the Indian athletes participating in the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. Indian sports stars and celebrities shared heartfelt messages and moments from the opening ceremony online.
The 2024 Summer Olympics are being held in Paris and the opening ceremony took place on Friday, July 26. In anticipation of India’s participation, Bollywood celebrities have taken to social media to pen heartfelt messages to the athletes representing the country.
Indian sports stars PV Sindhu and Sharath Kamal attended the opening ceremony held on the banks of the Seine river as flag bearers. Reports suggest that 78 athletes and support staff were on a boat cheering for India during the opening ceremony. They were all waving the tricolour proudly.
Deepika Padukone’s father and ace badminton player Prakash Padukone was also present on the Indian boat. Deepika shared this moment on Instagram and tagged it with #Olympics2024.
Actress Taapsee Pannu took to her Instagram Stories and shared a moment with her husband Mathias Boe at the Paris Olympics.
The photo shows Boi holding the Indian flag along with a group of Indian supporters.
Alia Bhatt dedicated an Instagram story to the Indian athletes and wrote, “Go ahead Team India.”
Ajay Devgn took to X (formerly Twitter) to express his appreciation for the Indian athletes, where he wrote, “To all the Indian athletes, you are the pride of our nation. You are the best at what you do. Rest assured we will be wholeheartedly excited to see you perform. Now it’s time to bring the hardware home. Cheers and all the best! #OlympicGames #Olympics2024
Suniel Shetty also wished the athletes, writing, “All the best for the Paris Olympics to our incredible athletes. The nation stands with you #GoForGlory Jai Hind.”
The opening ceremony of Paris Olympics 2024 will be held on 26 July 2024. Legendary singer Celine Dion and pop sensation Lady Gaga.
The Paris Games were eventually opened by French President Emmanuel Macron, followed by French judoka Teddy Riner and former French track and field athlete Marie-Jose Perec.
