Pam Bondy’s photo found in trash a day after Trump fired her as Attorney General: Report

A day after US President Donald Trump ousted Attorney General Pam Bondi, a photo of her official photograph lying in a dustbin inside the Department of Justice (DOJ) has gone viral. The image was first reported by MS Now and shows a framed portrait of Bondi placed upside down in an empty dustbin. The portrait was previously displayed on a wall alongside images of Trump and US Vice President JD Vance. The development came hours after Trump announced Bondi’s removal in a social media post, naming Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche as his replacement. Bondy is a longtime ally of Trump and has been serving as the nation’s top law enforcement official since early 2025. In his statement, Trump praised Bondi and said she would “transition” to a role in the private sector. He said his new position would be announced later. Blanche also defended his record, saying: “As President Trump said today, the Attorney General has made our country safe again, and he’s a friend and he’s done a great job in the first year of this administration.”Bondy said she would “work tirelessly” to transfer her responsibilities and described her tenure as the “honor” of a lifetime. She said she would “continue to fight for President Trump and this administration” in her next role.Despite public praise, the Guardian reported that Trump was disappointed with Bondi’s handling of issues related to the case of convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein. Bondi had previously promised transparency of the infamous documents and said an alleged client list linked to Epstein would be released. The DOJ later said that no such list existed.Millions of documents related to Epstein were eventually made public after pressure from lawmakers and Trump supporters and after Congress passed a law requiring the release of declassified records. However, much of the material was edited. Bondi faced criticism from both Democrats and Republicans. Bondi also faced scrutiny over his leadership during tense congressional hearings, where arguments with lawmakers became heated. At one point, he called a Democrat a “cheated loser”.His departure follows the recent ouster of Kristi Noem as Homeland Security secretary and joins a series of high-profile exits from Trump’s administration.
