Pakistani actress Humaira Asghar was found dead in her apartment in Etahd Commercial Area, Father VI in Karachi, on Tuesday, 8 July.
The body was discovered in a state of advanced decomposition, which increased concerns about the circumstances around its death.
Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Syed Asad Raza informed the local media that the officer went to the apartment at around 3 pm after a report of concern.
Police opened the door when repeated knocking failed to receive any reaction. He found Asghar’s dead body inside, and it is suspected that he was killed about two weeks ago.
Dig Raza said, “The body looked old day old.” Asghar is said to be between 30 and 35 years. She has been living alone in the apartment for the last seven years. Neighbors said that they became suspicious due to a strong smell and no activity from his house, due to which the police received a call.
While the cause of death is not yet known, authorities are currently considering the case as a potential natural death.
A formal investigation is being done, and the police have warned the public with speculation until the facts are determined.
“Forensic teams were sent to rapidly collect evidence from the scene,” Dig Raza said.
Post mortem is going on in Jinnah Hospital
The body was taken to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center for further examination. Dr. Samaiya Syed, who is in charge of the Autopesy, stated that the remains were “in a very advanced stage of decomposition, and it was difficult to give the exact cause of death at this time.” More analysis will be required.
At this point, no dishonesty has been officially confirmed, and officials are waiting for post -mortem results before taking decisions. The police have called upon the public and the media to avoid speculation until the investigation is completed.
