The Oppo Reno16 series has made its debut in China. The lineup currently includes Reno16 Pro and Reno16. Both phones come with a triple rear camera setup with a 200MP main sensor, and are available in three color options.
Although both the phones have the same rear camera setup, other specifications are different. The Reno16 Pro features a 6.78-inch AMOLED display and is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500s chipset.
The Reno16, on the other hand, has a smaller 6.32-inch OLED panel and is powered by the Dimensity 8550 Super SoC.
Both handsets come with a 120Hz refresh rate, 1.5K resolution, up to 3,600-nits peak brightness, high-frequency PWM dimming, and an in-display fingerprint scanner.
The rear camera setup of both phones is the same. It features a primary 200MP sensor with f/1.8 aperture and OIS, a 50MP periscope telephoto with OIS, and a 50MP ultrawide unit with 116-degree FoV. On the front, both the phones offer a 50MP camera for selfies and video calling.
Internally, the Reno16 Pro packs a 7,000mAh battery with 80W wired and 50W wireless charging support. Meanwhile, the standard Reno16 only gets a smaller 6,700mAh cell with 80W wired charging.
Both phones run on OriginOS 16 and come with features like dual SIM 5G, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, IR blaster, and IP69K rating. Notably, the Reno16 Pro offers Wi-Fi 7 connectivity, while the Reno16 is limited to Wi-Fi 6.
Oppo Reno16 Pro is available in Dreamy Blue, Heart-Fluttering Stars and Moonlight Night Black colors.
Meanwhile, the Reno16 comes in Galaxy Purple, Heart-Fluttering Stars, and Moonlight Night Black shades.
Both phones are available for pre-order, and sales are scheduled to begin on May 29. The Reno16 Pro starts at CNY 4,499 ($660) for the 12GB/256GB option. The 12GB/512GB and 16GB/512GB options are priced at CNY 4,899 ($720) and CNY 5,299 ($780), respectively.
On the other hand, the price of the 12GB/256GB model of the Reno16 starts at CNY 3,499 ($515). It is also available in a 12GB/512GB model, priced at CNY 3,999 ($590), a 16GB/256GB model priced at CNY 3,899 ($575), and a 16GB/512GB variant, priced at CNY 4,299 ($635). The high-end 16GB/1TB model is priced at CNY 4,899 ($720).
