Just a month after being announced in China, Oppo’s Reno16 and Reno16 Pro are now making their way to global markets, but not without a few changes.
The key one is the chipset choice, where the global Reno16 Pro is limited to the MediaTek Dimensity 8550 Super compared to the Chinese version’s Dimensity 9500. The vanilla Reno16 gets the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 under the hood. The Pro is offered with 12GB RAM and 512GB storage, while the vanilla comes in 8/256GB and 8/512GB trims.

But that’s not the only change as the global Reno16 Pro gets a smaller 6,700mAh Si-C battery compared to the Chinese version’s 7,000mAh cell. The vanilla version also gets a 6,700mAh Si-C battery in some regions, while European units will have an even smaller 6,000mAh capacity. All Reno16 devices support 80W SuperVOOC wired charging.

But there is some good news, the global Reno16 Pro gets a screen with a faster 144Hz refresh rate. It’s a 6.32-inch AMOLED with FHD+ resolution, just like the Reno16, but the latter is limited to 120Hz. Both panels are rated at a peak local brightness of up to 3,600 nits and feature optical in-display fingerprint sensors.
Reno16 Pro display and cameras
In terms of cameras, the Pro model has the same setup as the Chinese model. You get a 200MP main shooter equipped with Samsung’s S5KHP5 sensor, a 50MP ultrawide (GC50F6) and a 50MP (Samsung JN5) telephoto with 3.5x optical zoom.

The non-Pro Reno16 has the same telephoto and ultrawide modules, but opts for a lower resolution 50MP main camera equipped with a Sony LYT-600 sensor. Elsewhere, both phones boot Android 16 with ColorOS 16 on top and feature IP68/IP69/P69K ingress protection.
