With the latest episode of Only Murders in the Building season 4, the show has made it clear that the murder mystery of Saiz (played by Jane Lynch) is far from solved. The episode premiering on October 15, 2024, revealed that what the trio, Mabel, Charles, and Oliver, had discovered was illusory.

As we approach the final episodes of the season, viewers are still far from knowing the truth. The end of episode 8 indicated that Saez’s murder has no connection to Dudenoff, which adds further complexity to the investigation. The upcoming episode, which is the second to last episode of the season, will explore the clue revealed at the end of episode 8.

A closer look at the plot

The events of episode 8 revealed that the leads the trio were following were wrong. The deaths of Saez and Dudenoff were not linked, and in fact, Dudenoff was not murdered at all. This opens the possibility that Saiz’s killer was targeting her or all three of Charles, Mabel, and Oliver.

Hopefully the next episode will delve deeper into the new clues revealed at the end of episode eight. It was finally teased that Glenn Stubbins, played by Paul Rudd, may have been involved in Saiz’s murder. However, it’s unlikely that the show will solve this mystery so easily. Glenn is still in the hospital, but appears to be regaining consciousness.

what happens next?

Episode 9, titled “Escape from Planet Klongo”, will not only focus on uncovering the truth behind Saiz’s death, but will also feature some comedic moments as the trio attempt to infiltrate a movie set. This effort is part of their mission to find out why Saez was murdered. It promises to bring a mix of mystery and laughs as they gather more clues.

Episode 8 Recap

Episode 8 focused largely on the mystery surrounding Dudenoff. In episode 7 the residents of the West Tower were suspected of being behind the murders. However, episode 8 revealed that Dudenoff had committed suicide after learning that he had a terminal illness. She asked the residents to keep her death a secret, leading the three to realize that her death was not connected to Saiz.

The episode also revealed that Saiz had a disciple, Glenn, who was harassing him. Glenn was previously hospitalized after a failed assassination attempt on Oliver.

Only Murders in the Building Season 4 Episode 9 will premiere on October 22, 2024.
