OnePlus Nord 5 will be launched in India on 8 July, which is next month. While most of the official details about the phone are still wrapped, many leaks have already made a good deal as to what to expect and by it, it can be the most powerful Nord phone. OnePlus has not confirmed any important glasses yet, but the leak has indicated on a large upgrade across the board, from batteries and chipsets to design and performance. here are the details.
OnePlus Nord 5: Full Spac (leak)
Chipset confirmed
OnePlus Nord 5 is confirmed to pack a Snapdragon 8S General 3SOC, which is a good option. However, early rumors indicated the use of MediaTek Demistance 9400E processor. While the company has revealed that this Nord 5 is not giving strength to the smartphone, the inclusion of this chip can make a big jump in everyday speed, gaming abilities and overall efficiency. In fact, since this chip provides a performance level close to Snapdragon 8 General 3, Nord 5 would sell like a hot cake. Nevertheless, the 8s GEN 3 SoC is also quite powerful for a mid-range phone. It will be interesting to see how the phone will perform in the real world. To remember, the current Nord 4 runs on Snapdragon 7+ General 3 SoC, a good artist in the middle-range category.
Huge battery, fast charging?
The battery department is expected to see a major improvement. The leak suggests that Nord 5 may have a large 7,000mAh battery, a big step from the 5,500mAh unit seen on Nord 4. The size of such a battery is hardly found on the phone in 2025. It will be interesting to see how this OnePlus phone will perform.
To support this, OnePlus has also been tied up to offer 100W fast charging support. It is clear that OnePlus is focusing not only on performance but also on endurance, something that many mid-range users can highly value.
Performance and design details leaked
OnePlus Nord 5 has been tipped to come up with a flat OLED screen with a 1.5K resolution and 120Hz refresh rates. While the exact size is not yet known, there is a possibility that the phone can either maintain a display of Nord 4 to 6.74 inch or provide a large screen to make space for large batteries. An in-display fingerprint sensor is also expected.
Design-wise, OnePlus is allegedly making noticeable changes. Nord 4 came up with a dual tone finish and horizontally align the rear cameras, but the Nord 5 could switch to a pill -shaped vertical camera module at the rear. According to the initial teaser, color options can include microscopic colors such as off-white and light blue. This suggests that the device will offer clean, minimum aesthetics, known for the Nord series.
An interesting point is build quality. Nord 4 had a solid metal frame that gave it a premium feel. However, Tipster Debayan Roy suggests that Nord 5 can adopt a glass with a plastic frame. This can help keep weight and cost low, but we have to see how in-hand experience compare the previous model.
Camera setup may remain unchanged
In the camera department, much is not changing. The Nord 5 has been extended to maintain the same setup of Nord 4, 50-Megapixel primary camera and 8-megapixel ultravide lens on the rear. On the front may be a 16-megapixel front-facing shooter. Although it may disappoint users in search of a new camera experience, one can improve things through OnePlus software tuning. In addition, there is a possibility that the brand may provide separate camera sensors for this version.
OnePlus Nord 5: Price in India (leak)
For pricing, OnePlus has not yet made any official announcement. However, we hope that the base model of OnePlus Nord 5 will cost less than Rs 30,000. This is something that is also suggesting the above tipster.
To compare, Nord 4 was priced at Rs 29,999 and Nord 3 was priced at Rs 33,999. So, it would not be amazing if Nord 5 Land between these two. But, as usual, all leaked information should be taken with a pinch of salt until the official manifest.
