OnePlus Ace 6T may launch in India as OnePlus 15R, beats OnePlus 15 in one key area
OnePlus has already teased the launch of its next budget flagship, the OnePlus 15R. According to the leak, this device will likely be similar to the OnePlus Ace 6T which is scheduled to launch in China. OnePlus kicked off the launch of its next-generation devices in India with the OnePlus 15. Now, the company has started teasing its more affordable but power-packed device, the OnePlus 15R. According to the leak, the OnePlus 15R will be a rebranded version of the OnePlus Ace 6T, which is set to launch in China.
OnePlus 15R design and cameras
The OnePlus 15R is expected to come with a flat frame design and a square camera module, similar to the OnePlus 15. In China, the device gets three colors – black, green and purple. The camera module also hints towards a dual rear camera setup with a 50-megapixel main sensor and an 8-megapixel ultrawide. Unlike the OnePlus 13R, the OnePlus 15R is expected not to have a telephoto lens.
OnePlus 15R will get a bigger battery than OnePlus 15
While the cameras may feel like a downgrade, the OnePlus 15R has something that’s a step up from the OnePlus 15. If the device is similar to the Ace 6T, it will come with a larger 8,000mAh battery pack compared to the 7,300mAh cell in the OnePlus 15.
The device is also expected to support 100W wired and 50W wireless charging.
OnePlus 15R performance and expected specifications
The OnePlus 15R is expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 SoC. OnePlus had already announced that it would be the first phone maker to use this chipset. The chipset is expected to deliver similar performance to last year’s Snapdragon 8 Elite.
The Ace 6T, aka OnePlus 15, features a 6.7-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 165Hz refresh rate.
Additional features include a customizable Plus key, which users can set to different functions, such as silent mode, the camera, or activating the Plus Mind AI function. This shortcut button is likely to be taken from the OnePlus 15.
The OnePlus 15R is also likely to get stereo speakers as well as IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance.
OnePlus 15R launch and expected price
OnePlus 15R may be launched before the end of the year. There is very little information available regarding the pricing of the new device. However, considering the price hike of the OnePlus 15, the OnePlus 15R could be costlier than the OnePlus 13R. OnePlus 13R was launched in India for Rs 42,999.
