OnePlus is preparing for the launch of its next flagship, the OnePlus 13, which may be launched with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. While the exact launch date in China is still under wraps, a recent teaser from Qualcomm suggests that OnePlus may be the first to introduce the new Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC, which was previously rumored as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4.

The Snapdragon 8 Elite, which will be unveiled during Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Summit on October 22, is expected to power a range of upcoming flagship devices, including models from Xiaomi, Oppo and iQOO. A video from Qualcomm has further fueled the speculation, showing a prototype smartphone with a circular camera island that closely resembles the design of the upcoming OnePlus 13.

Additionally, OnePlus China President Lewis Li reposted Qualcomm’s teaser on Weibo, strongly hinting that the OnePlus 13 will indeed be the first smartphone globally to launch with the Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC. This shows that OnePlus is keeping itself ahead of competitors like Xiaomi, which was previously speculated to launch the first device with the new chip. The video hints at the new chipset’s Orion Core, which promises significant improvements in both performance and power efficiency.

OnePlus 13 specifications leaked

The OnePlus 13 is expected to have a larger 6,000mAh battery, which will be a big upgrade from the 5,400mAh battery seen in the previous model. It will probably support 100W wired and 50W wireless charging.

Retaining the same vibration motor and main camera as its predecessor, the OnePlus 13 will reportedly feature a larger 6.8-inch display with a distinctive punch-hole design. The screen may remain flat but has curved glass all around, giving it an almost bezel-less look. One notable change could also be the introduction of a true ceramic body, which is a premium design change reported by Weibo tipster Digital Chat Station.

It is also said to come with an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor for biometrics, which will allow people to unlock the device even if their fingers are oily or dirty. The chip will likely be backed by up to 24GB of RAM.
