A video published by US news channel TMZ on Saturday shows a gunman lying on his stomach on a rooftop with a rifle in his hand, as screams erupt.
US presidential candidate Donald Trump was shot in the ear by a gunman in an assassination attempt during a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania on Saturday.

According to US media, the FBI has identified the gunman, who was shot dead by the US Secret Service, as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, a resident of Bethel Park in the US state.
Video published by TMZ shows the alleged shooter lying on his stomach on a rooftop and aiming a rifle at someone.
“The guy has long brown hair, and appears to be wearing a gray shirt/khaki pants — and as you can see, he’s trying to carefully mark the target from a distance before pulling the trigger,” TMZ reports.
The published footage does not show the man firing the shot. But a series of gunshots can be heard, followed by screams from behind the camera.
A man can be heard saying, “He’s turning this way, be careful guys.”
“Someone got shot,” another voice says. “He’s just lying there.”
Another man can be heard saying, “Man, this is why we need Trump.”
Another person said, “The Secret Service doesn’t mess with this.”
A second video published by TMZ shows shaking footage of the same rooftop and a blurry body.
A man behind the camera says, “You can see that guy. I think they hit him because that guy looks dead.”
Another video posted by a TikTok user shows Trump touching his right ear after several bangs are heard.
In the same frame, a security force sniper positioned on a rooftop behind the Republican presidential candidate is seen taking aim with a rifle placed on a stand.
AFP has not independently confirmed the video, and it was not clear whether the sniper fired his weapon.
Trump then sits down behind a lectern and Secret Service agents circle around him. There are sounds of cheering and booing from the crowd.
He is later escorted off the stage by agents.
