Oktor 65W GaN Charger review: Compact design, stable fast charging
The Oktor 65W GaN Charger delivers a reliable, fast-enough charging experience for both phones and laptops while remaining compact and cool in daily use. Here’s a quick review by India Today Tech

We all have power adapters, mostly the ones we got when we bought our phones. Or any other device. But sometimes, we need to buy fresh. And then it becomes a question of first party or third party? And what about quality? To understand this we are taking a look at the Octer 65 Gen Charger. This charger from homegrown brand Oktor uses gallium nitride instead of traditional silicon, which promises to offer fast charging and a compact design while keeping heat under control. It supports USB power delivery and is compatible with charging both laptops and smartphones. And it comes with a 3-pin Indian plug and includes built-in protection against overheating, short circuit, and voltage spikes.
Here at India Today Tech, we used the Octer 65W GaN charger for about 2 weeks to charge all kinds of gadgets. Long story short: it works well, is exceptionally well built. However, it is also limited with its feature set.
Charging is quite fast
Oktor promises 65W GaN fast charging, but how fast is it really? It is not shining fast. But it is not slow either. In our use, we charged multiple devices, including iPhones, Android phones, and laptops. For reference, it managed to charge the iPhone 16 Plus from 0 to 100 percent in about 55 minutes, and it charged the MacBook Air M2 from 0 to 100 percent in about three hours.
The charging speed is not the fastest in this segment but it is more than acceptable for everyday use.
Works equally well with iPhone and Android phones
The charging speed remains the same across different phones and laptops.
Perfect for everyday top-ups
The Oktor 65W GaN charger managed to deliver enough charge in a quick 15-20 minute plug-in, allowing for a few hours of battery-free usage.
No problems with overheating during long sessions
Apart from charging speed, heat is the next big thing that matters in a good power adapter. In our use, the Octer 65W GaN never showed any signs of overheating and remained cool even after charging the laptop for hours.
long charging cable
Another plus is that in the box you also get a 1.5m USB-C to USB-C cable rated for 65W charging. This is long enough to be really useful, especially while traveling, working, or relaxing at home. You won’t need to sit right next to a socket or rely on an extension cord.
original design
The charger we used came in white and keeps things simple. With prolonged use, the white finish does tend to stain a bit, but the glossy top makes it easy to clean with a damp cloth.
two ports could have been better
While we liked the speed and convenience, the charger only comes with one port. At a selling price of Rs 1,399, it would have been nice to have at least two ports.
Oktor 65W GaN Charger review: Should you buy it?
If you’re looking for a fast-charging adapter, the Oktor 65W GaN Charger is worth checking out. It provides quick charging for all USB-C supported devices and remains cool during use. You may not get dual ports, but the long cable adds a lot of everyday convenience.
