O’ Romeo, directed by Vishal Bhardwaj and starring Shahid Kapoor and Trupti Dimri in lead roles along with Nana Patekar, Farida Dalal, Avinash Tiwari, Vikrant Massey, Tamannaah Bhatia and others, is now in its final stages at the box office.
Backed by Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, the romantic action drama remained flat on Wednesday due to Holi festival. The film made Rs. 70 lakh in the tally, taking the third week’s earnings to Rs. 5.20 crores in 6 days. Currently stands at Rs. The film will end its third week at Rs 57.45 crore. 58 crore nett or so.
Since there are no important releases till Dhurandhar 2, O’ Romeo will continue to run in theaters for the next two weeks. However, it no longer has much fuel left. It is looking to end its entire box office journey at Rs. Earning 60 crores at the Indian box office.
Shahid Kapoor’s film has not performed well at the box office, it has been able to perform so well on the basis of buy one-get one offer. BOGO may help the perception of higher NETT numbers, but it comes at the expense of share price or additional expense under P&A, however one would like to see it. That said, even if the film had performed somewhat better, like Teri Baton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, it still would not have been enough to cover the budget. The cost was a bit high considering the face value of the film.
