After teasing it for a month, nothing has finally launched its latest phone 3A series. The company has announced two new models – nothing Phone 3A and Phone 3A Pro. While both devices share many of the same main features, there are some notable differences that separate them. From the design to the camera, there is a detailed comparison of two phones here.

Nothing Phone 3A vs. Phone 3A Pro: India’s prices

Nothing is the price of phone 3A is Rs 24,999 for the 8GB + 128GB version, while the 8GB + 256GB option is priced at Rs 26,999. Users can choose from black, blue or white color options.

Nothing starts at Rs 29,999 for the base model with 8 GB RAM and 128 GB storage. For those who require more storage, the Pro model offers two additional variants: 8GB + 256GB for Rs 31,999, and 12GB + 256GB for Rs 33,999. Pro comes in black and gray color options.

For your reference, there is a price difference of Rs 5,000 between two smartphones.

As part of the launch, there will be a bank discount offer of Rs 2,000. For example, the price of the phone 3A for this base model will fall to Rs 22,999. Similarly, the phone will cost Rs 29,999 effectively.

Although both phones are of the same series, their designs stand differently. Nothing Nothing The Phone 3A has a pill-shaped camera module with a red-renovated square on its transparent back panel, which gives it a unique view. In contrast, the phone adopts more unconventional L-shaped camera layout on the 3A Pro back.

Both models are equipped with the popular glyph lighting system, which allows users to adapt to light patterns for various information. Additionally, build quality is upgraded with a glass back, which is likely to offer more premium feel. The phone comes with an IP64 rating for 3A dust and water resistance, while the Pro model steps up to IP68, making it more resistant to contact with water.

A major difference is that the phone supports 3A Pro ESIM functionality, which is missing in the phone 3A.

Any new phones share the same display specs, which features a 6.77-inch Ltps AMOLED panel, with a dynamic refresh rate from 30Hz to 120Hz. Both devices provide a peak shine of 3,000nits. This is significantly higher than the previous year’s model, with a peak of 1,300nits. So, the material on the latest model should be more visible in the harsh sunlight. Panels also have support for 1,000 Hz Touch Sampling Rate, 2,160Hz PWM Frequency and Panda Glass Protection in gaming mode.

The two are not powered by the Snapdragon 7S General 3 chipset of the phone 3A and the phone 3A Pro Qualcomm. It is an upgrade on the MediaTek chips found in the previous generations. The company is promising that the new version will offer a 33 percent increase in performance and a significant improvement in AI processing capabilities.

The base configuration includes 8GB RAM, but the Pro model also provides 12GB options for users that require more power for multitasking. Storage options range from 128GB to 256GB for both models.

Software, AI, required place

On the software front, both the phones run at OS 3.1, including different types of new features, such as the “required location” app. It acts as a hub where users can store notes, screenshots and voice recording for easy access. It also introduces some AI features, including Gemini Advanced and Circle. However, the standout feature is the “required location”. Even to activate the required space, there is a dedicated button on the edge of both phones, making it easier to capture the screenshot when not saving or leaving the notes. The company has also confirmed that the app will also include more features including “camera capture, smart collection, focused search and flip to record”.

Nothing has promised six years of software and security updates for both devices. This is something that is not introducing with any other brand smartphone for Rs 30,000.

Both phones 3A and Phone 3A Pro packed 5,000mAh battery with support for 50W fast charging. It is a minor upgrade at 45W charging speed that offered previous versions. However, keep in mind that the devices do not ship with a charger with the phone. Therefore, users have to buy it separately.

The camera system shares some similarities on both devices, but the pro model has some additional moves on its sleeves. They differ in terms of sensors size and zooming capabilities.

Nothing is equipped with a 50-megapixel primary sensor from the phone 3A Pro Samsung, measuring 1/1.56 inches, which is paired with F/1.88 aperture. This large sensor size allows for more light capture, increasing the performance in low-light conditions. Optical image stabilization (OIS) and electronic image stabilization (EIS) are also present to ensure stable shots in speed. The Pro model features 3x optical zoom, 6X in-sensor zoom, and 50mp Sony 1/1.95-inch periscope telephoto lens to 60X digital zoom, providing more versatility for distant subjects. Ultravide shooter is similar to the standard model – a reliable 8MP sensor with an F/2.2 aperture.

Nothing has a competent camera setup in the phone 3A but with a little small sensor. Its primary 50-megapixel Samsung sensor measures 1/1.57 inches, as well as F/1.88 aperture, OIS and EIS. However, the phone uses a 50-megapixel Sony sensor on the phone 3A with a small 1/2.74-inch size and an F/2.0 aperture. This model offers 2x optical zoom, 4x in-sensor zoom and 30X digital zoom-even stronger, but less powerful than Proiskope System of Pro.

Another difference is in front cameras. The phone is equipped with 3A 32-megapixel selfie camera, while the Pro model has a 50-megapixel sensor. Therefore, the Pro version is expected to offer sharp and more detailed selfies.

Pro model has better camera sensors, which are the main and telephoto lenses using advanced Samsung GNJ and Sony Lit -600 sensors respectively. These upgrade promises better dynamic range and rapid autofocus, especially in a low-lighting position.
