North Korea held "Strategic cruise missile" Launch Drill this week: Report

North Korea launched a test-launch of its strategic cruise missiles in the yellow ocean this week, the Pyongyang’s state media reported in a drill on Friday, seeking to demonstrate the skills of its “state nuclear prevention”.

Leader Kim Jong Un attended the launch, which took place on Wednesday, Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) said.

The agency said that the purpose of the practice was to warn the enemies of Pyongyang, North Korea, “Reversal capacity at any place and the readiness of its various atomic operations”.

Missiles flew for 130 minutes, before they “hit the target properly”, KCNA said.

Participating in the drill, Kim said that it was the responsibility of North Korea’s nuclear armed forces to “defend national sovereignty and safety”.

“Powerful striking capacity”, he said, “most correct preventive and defense”, KCNA said.

In the North Korean state media, images showed Kim, flank by authorities, playing telescope and seeing a missile strike and destroyed a small building on a nearby island.

KCNA did not say where the test was done, but the expert website NK News said it was probably near Nampho city, which was about 130 km (80 mi) from the border with South Korea.

Relationships between Pyongyang and Seoul have been one of their lowest points over the years, a violation of the United Nations restrictions in the north was a halt of ballistic missiles last year.

Since 1950 to 1953, the two have been in the War in the Korea War, which ended in an aristis, not in a peace treaty.

North Korea conducted such a test in January last when it said that it launched the C-to-Surface Strategic Guided Cruzing Missiles-the first US President of the world, Donald Trump, returned to the White House.

The United States and South Korean intelligence also believe that North Korea has sent thousands of soldiers to fight against Ukraine in Russia and has ever suffered hundreds of casualties.

On Thursday, South Korean intelligence told AFP that Pyongyang had sent more soldiers to Russia, although it could not give an accurate figure.

It was also stated that North Korea had rebuilt soldiers for the frontline in Kursk, where Ukraine earlier said that they were withdrawn after heavy losses.

Neither North Korea nor Russia officially confirmed that Pyongyang’s army is fighting for Moscow.
