Rhea Chakraborty has opened up about the painful years when no one wanted to work with her, a phase that kept her away from mainstream acting. Almost seven years after facing intense public scrutiny, the actor is now all set to make his comeback with Hansal Mehta’s upcoming series.

She said, “It took many sessions of therapy to give up this dream of acting that I had worked for for over a decade. I had to stop thinking about it because I couldn’t do it; I didn’t get acting opportunities.”
The actress shared that when she was offered the project, she initially turned it down. “Hansal sir and the writer asked me what was stopping me. I told them I had given up acting and they said that’s why I should do it because it doesn’t matter whether I do well or not. Now I’m glad I said yes, coming to the set was different, such a long life has been lived in the last seven years. It’s like riding a bicycle, something you never forget.”
Beyond her professional comeback, Rhea got emotional while talking about the women who stood by her in her toughest moments. She calls singer-actress Shibani Dandekar “like a sister”, saying, “My girlfriend has shown me what true friendship is. To be loved for no reason and to be in trouble at the cost of your life and livelihood is phenomenal.”
She also revealed that Shibani lost the brand endorsement due to her publicly supporting him – something Rhea only came to know later. “I’m grateful to have women in my life who lift each other up. On one hand I saw the worst side of humans, but on the other I also experienced the most beautiful side of humanity.”
