Stand-up comedian Vir Das and producer-director Nikkhil Advani collaborated for the dark-comedy crime series ‘Hansmukh’ in 2020. Das played the lead character, but he and Advani wrote the script for the show. It had an open-ending ending and for quite some time now fans have been hoping that a sequel will come soon. However, in an exclusive interview with IndiaToday. In, Advani confirmed that there is no update on the show’s sequel.
Advani said, “There is no update on ‘Hansmukh 2’,” adding, “It’s an incredible script, it’s an incredible story.” Revealing why the show took a hit, Advani told us, “Vir has become an international star, and I am very happy for him. He has won an Emmy Award. But, Vir has to take some time out, sit down and write something, and Ranvir (Shorey) has to come out of Bigg Boss.”
When we pointed out that Bigg Boss OTT has already ended, he said, “Oh, that’s over! Then he has to…” Advani interrupted himself and said that he shouldn’t say more about it, but clarified that he has a long process ahead of him.
‘Hasmukh’ revolved around comedian HasmukhPlayed by Vir Das, who gains confidence to improve his performance on stage by killing someone. The series was released in 2020 and is available on Netflix.
