Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban finalized their divorce in January 2026 after 19 years of marriage. The couple is said to be living separately since 2025 due to mutual differences after getting married a year after meeting each other for the first time in 2006. After years of publicly supporting and loving each other, their separation came as a shock to many. Speaking for the first time since their separation, the actress is opening up about the difficult year they’ve had and raising their children together.

Asked if she was okay three months after her split from her longtime husband, she told Variety, "I am, because I will always move toward what is good."
Revealing where she and Keith Urban stand at the moment and specifically what the situation is with their children, two daughters, Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret, she said, “I’m always moving towards what’s good. I’m grateful for my family and keeping them that way and moving forward. That’s it. All the other stuff I don’t discuss out of respect. I’m living in a place of, ‘We are a family,’ and that’s where we’re going to continue to be.” My beautiful girls, my darlings, who have suddenly become women.
Later, when the actress was asked if all those years were Nicole Kidman years, she said, “Well, not last year. I was cool. I had other things going on. I was in my shell.”
So far, the former couple have agreed to a joint, non-conflictual co-parenting plan without spousal support, but they must “deal with each other and each child so as to provide a loving, stable, consistent, and nurturing relationship with the child while they are divorced.”
Meanwhile, the two have not been seen together since their separation.
