Netflix has officially renewed Nobody Wants This for a second season following the success of its debut. The Erin Foster-created series, which captivated audiences with its unique blend of humor and heartfelt moments, will return to further explore the relationship between Rabbi Noah (Adam Brody) and podcaster Joan (Kristen Bell).

The first season of Nobody Wants This ended with a romantic kiss shared between the two after their bat mitzvah, leaving viewers eager to see how their love story would unfold.

Adam Brody, who plays Noah, shed light on the character’s mindset in the season finale. “I interpreted the ending as Noah saying to Joan, ‘I put you first. Everything else will fall into place, but you’re my priority,'” Brody told Netflix.

However, he cautioned that the way forward is clear. “In the light of day, would he still feel the same way? I don’t know. It’s an open question.” Season 2 promises to explore these tensions and more, as the couple decides if love can truly conquer all.

Series creator Erin Foster expressed her excitement about the renewal and called Nobody Wants This a career highlight. “The incredible cast, crew, producers and executives all made it to today’s show,” he shared.

Joining Foster in leading the show for Season 2 are new executive producers and showrunners Jenni Konner and Bruce Eric Kaplan, both known for their work on Girls. Nora Silver, best known for Deli Boys and Single Drunk Female, has also joined as an executive producer.

Season 2 of Nobody Wants will continue to explore the complexities of love, identity, and sacrifice. As Noah and Joan deal with the challenges of their relationship, viewers can expect to see deeper questions emerge: What sacrifices are worth making for love? How do you balance personal growth with commitment to the other person?

“It’s a sacrifice, but ideally, you grow together and become better for it,” Brody explained. “You don’t have to cut off a part of yourself to be with someone else.”

The renovation gives Showroom an opportunity to delve deeper into the challenges the couple faces, particularly their cultural differences. Joan’s non-Jewish background remains a significant obstacle in both Noah’s personal and religious life. While Joan has considered converting to Judaism, she has expressed uncertainty about fully committing to the process. Despite these obstacles, Noah’s parking lot kiss marked his promise to make Joan a priority in his life.

Fans will have to wait until 2025 to see how Noah and Joan’s journey unfolds, but with a new showrunner and a stellar creative team, Season 2 promises to deliver just as much charm and complexity as the first .
