Netflix has announced the premiere of Yo Yo Honey Singh: Famous, a docu-film based on the life of Indian hip-hop star Honey Singh. Directed by Mozez Singh and produced by Oscar-winning filmmaker Guneet Monga under her production banner Sikhya Entertainment, the feature will debut on Netflix on December 20.

The film is based on the life of Honey Singh, whose original name was Hirdesh Singh. It promises to offer an unfiltered glimpse of the singer-rapper’s glorious rise, struggles, fall and triumphant return to the music scene.

Director Mozez Singh called the project a privilege, “Honey Singh has already lived many lives in this one life. The film covers everything from love, pain, family, success, failure, mental health and the price of fame. It highlights his evolution and his revolutionary impact on Indian hip-hop culture.”

Yo Yo Honey Singh: Famous will feature the singer’s family members and friends sharing anecdotes from his life. Talking about his documentary, Honey Singh had earlier said, “I have talked about my personal and career issues in the media before, but I have never been able to highlight it. I have received tremendous support from my fans. Got love, and they deserve it.” Know the whole story.
