Neha Bhasin on battling premenstrual disorder: I was brutally shamed
Actress Neha Bhasin recalls her battle with premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD). The singer confessed that she was brutally body shamed.
Bigg Boss OTT contestant and singer Neha Bhasin opens up about her battle with premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD). In a heartfelt note, she revealed she has struggled with the condition since her teenage years and was diagnosed with low progesterone in 2022. Neha shared how the disorder had made it challenging for her to “get up and live” for half of every month.
Neha wrote in her post on Instagram, “I gained 10 kg weight for the first time in my life. And I already suffer from body dysmorphia. And I was in recovery from an eating disorder on and off again. Anti-depressants ensured that I gained more weight. I sat alone in the dark for 10 hours a day during my episodes. I am getting better now. “I have help and I have bad days but I’m learning to cope and hope.”

“I was groped by people on the street, in cafes, while going to the gym. That’s when I started to hate the way I looked. I was just physically shamed, constantly shamed mercilessly She goes to the gym, it’s not working She said, “I was just depressed and had constant body aches and I used to sit in the gym and cry if I didn’t move because my body was low on dopamine and serotonin.” Had I walked too much, I would have had cramps and fatigue.
He captioned his post and wrote, “This world thrives on love. Love and let love. I don’t feel very comfortable writing about my life this way, especially while I’m recovering. Speculating is not my idea of entertainment, but being in pain and It may be unreasonable to expect and expect more pain. Always bear silently. Could this world be a better place for you and me? Lots of love and light (sic).”
This is not the first time he has spoken openly about his condition. Earlier, Neha had opened up about her health challenges and personal struggles. Neha Bhasin, a strong proponent of body positivity, detailed in her post about the variety of symptoms, including chronic fatigue, physical and emotional pain, anxiety and recurring bouts of depression. She also discussed past traumas, unhealthy eating habits, sleep disorders, and the importance of therapy as part of her ongoing journey.
