Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who has worked in Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ series, recently opened up about his relationship with the filmmaker. During an interview, the actor expressed his gratitude towards Kashyap for introducing him on big platforms like Cannes.

Thanks to Anurag Kashyap, who brought me to a bigger platform. When I went to Cannes, a lot of people saw my work there. Many of the films he has directed and I have acted in have gone to Cannes, so Anurag is a special director for me,” he said.

Sharing details about his personal relationship with Anurag, Nawazuddin revealed that they are not close friends. However, he wishes the filmmaker good health. “To be honest, Anurag and I are not even friends. If we sit together, we can’t even talk to each other for hours. That’s how we are. We have flown together, travelled together for 5-6 hours without saying a word,” the ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ actor said.

He said, “But Anurag has a special place in my heart. I always want him to stay healthy and make films, even if he doesn’t cast me in them. Anurag should always keep making films. Anurag should never face any harm.”
