Veteran actors Amitabh Bachchan and Chiranjeevi will come together in Hyderabad for the ANR Awards ceremony to be held on October 28. The event is celebrating the 100th birth anniversary of Telugu cinema legend Akkineni Nageswara Rao (ANR) and Chiranjeevi will be honored with the ANR Award, which will be presented by Amitabh Bachchan.

The ANR Awards, instituted in 2005 by the Akkineni International Foundation, recognize outstanding contributions to Indian cinema. Over the years, the award has been given to many famous personalities including Dev Anand, Lata Mangeshkar, Sridevi, Hema Malini, Rekha, Shabana Azmi and K Balachander.

Amitabh Bachchan received the ANR Award in 2014. At the time, he talked about ANR’s contribution to Indian cinema and their shared journey in the industry. This year, he will return as the awards presenter, highlighting his long association with the Akkineni family.
