My Hero Academia Finale: What Happened to Ochaco?

My Hero Academia, one of the most popular manga series of all time by Kohei Horikoshi, wrapped up its journey on August 4 after running for a decade. The final chapters satisfied many fans by tying up most of the loose ends, however, the eight-year time jump left many confused about the status of some of the heroes.

One such character, Ochaco Uraraka, is actually quite surprising, as she has a romantic relationship with protagonist Izuku Midoriya, not to mention her fan favorite status. While it has been confirmed that she became a pro hero like many of her teammates, nothing else has been concretely revealed on the subject. Well, not to worry, because here we have delved deep into time to find out just that, and see what Urawiti is really up to.

The final chapter of My Hero Academia takes readers 8 years into the future, where most of the students of Class 1-A have become Pro Heroes after graduating from UA High School. Ochaco, like her peers, is seen working in the same and travels to schools across the country to inspire and guide children in the right direction.

They also started a campaign to provide people with easy access to Quirk counseling, which quickly became very popular due to its dire need. Since it was concluded that many villains were led astray due to being overwhelmed by their uncontrolled power, counseling helped them gain better control and drastically reduced the number of villains.

Although her romantic relationship with Deku hasn’t received any firm confirmation at all, the panel shows them strolling through falling snow, leading to speculation that there has been some positive development on this front. Not only that, but her new hero suit has a mouth gear that bears an uncanny resemblance to the one worn by Deku, which points to the same.

One of Ochako’s main strengths has always been her empathy, not only towards her comrades and teammates but at times even towards villains. As seen in the case of Himiko Toga, when Ochako left no stone unturned to reach out to her at base level to stop her uncensored destruction even after she was severely injured by the former. Not only that, but Himiko’s death after agreeing to give up the fight shook her to such an extent that she broke down in private after trying to keep up a smile so as not to spoil her friends’ happiness over the victory.

Thankfully, her friends were able to spot her mental condition and supported her enough to leave the guilt behind and work towards creating a better future for everyone. Though much of her story was left up to vague interpretations, it’s comforting for fans to see her with a genuine smile and ultimately a successful career as a hero.

One of the main reasons behind Ochaco Uraraka’s popularity among her peers and fans has been her calm and cool personality. She has made a remarkable impression on fans due to her combat prowess, clever use of her Quirk Zero Gravity, and coming up with brilliant strategies every time she needs to get ahead.

As a result, some are hoping that the finale of the My Hero Academia anime adaptation might provide a little more clarity about its story. Although the final decision rests on Horikoshi’s shoulders, one can certainly hope so!
