Muzammil Ibrahim reacts to viral No Regret clip on break-up with Deepika Padukone
Actor Muzammil Ibrahim has clarified that Deepika Padukone’s breakup clip going viral is from an old interview and does not have the full context. His note emphasizes that he spoke honestly but respectfully, even as the snippets sparked refreshing online conversations.
An old interview clip of actor-model Muzammil Ibrahim talking about his past relationship with actor Deepika Padukone has resurfaced online, and this time, he has issued a clarification. As excerpts of her saying that she had ‘no regrets’ about the break-up and that she was the one who ended the relationship continued to circulate, Muzammil said that the interview was not recent and its context had been lost in the editing.

In a note shared on Instagram, Muzammil mentioned that the clip being circulated as ‘fresh claims’ was actually from an interview recorded a year ago. He also stressed that he has always spoken about Deepika with respect, even when old comments have resurfaced.
Clarifying his position, Muzammil wrote, “The interview being discussed and wrongly titled as “Fresh Claims” was recorded over a year ago. What is currently being aired are a few moments of a much longer conversation. The hesitation, context and respect with which certain topics were discussed are often lost in the editing process and when the excerpts are viewed separately.” He highlighted that nuance was ignored in the way the clips were being shared.
“I have always tried to speak respectfully about people from my past, and that remains unchanged. Like many others, I have spent years focusing on my work and building my life, and I hope the conversation continues. I stand for speaking honestly, and I stand for doing so respectfully. – Muzammil Ibrahim (sic),” the actor concluded.
This resurfaced clip is of Muzammil’s interview with Siddharth Kanan in June 2025, where he spoke with some hesitation about his relationship with Deepika. In the part that is now going viral, she said, “He (proposed me first). I left him. No, I never regret leaving anyone.” I am really a boy brother. (I’m a tough guy, brother). I was a star at that time; She was not. She was a model. He is a superstar now; nobody knows me. I’m a big fan.”
Muzammil also said that he was the first person whom Deepika met in Mumbai and he was the first person with whom she had a serious relationship. According to him, after the breakup, both remained good friends for a few years and kept in touch on phone, but they have not talked since marriage. He also said that he was never jealous of her development and with maturity, he is happy to see her doing well.
Muzammil further added that Deepika has a loving husband in actor Ranveer Singh and the couple has a child, Dua, whom she had always dreamed of. He also revealed that Deepika and Ranveer are expecting their second child. Talking about work front, Deepika was last seen in Singham Again in 2024 and will next be seen in director Atlee’s film Raka With Allu Arjun.
Deepika also has it KingDirected by Siddharth Anand and starring actor Shahrukh Khan. Produced by Red Chillies Entertainment, the film is set to be a big Christmas release this year.
