Akshay, who is also producing the film, had sought damages of Rs 25 crore, alleging breach of contract and sabotage. The dispute continued for several months before being resolved after Paresh agreed to return to the project.
Speaking to Vicky Lalwani, Paresh said that his decision to walk out of the project has nothing to do with his discomfort working with Akshay.

If I had to do the film, I needed the approval of Firoz (Nadiadwala, producer) because he is the sole owner of the film. Foul play Franchise. And also from other films like Loafer, mad, crazy, Welcomeand all that. I couldn’t make any commitments until I got their approval.”

Am I here to enjoy making the film or to get stuck in it?’ I told myself I didn’t want to be a part of this anymore.
He said he believed Akshay’s legal move was driven more by emotions than law. “I really believe the legal notice was an emotional reaction. It was probably a case of, ‘How can he refuse me?’ He must have been emotionally disturbed.”

Despite the prolonged uncertainty surrounding the film, Paresh said that he would return to the project whenever it eventually gets underway, regardless of who directs or produces it. “Whenever the rigging actually happens, I will do it. I am married to that film. Whenever they make it, I will be there.”
Asked whether he and Akshay sat down later to discuss the notice and whether the actor apologised, Paresh said the matter was resolved without formal talks. “We never really sat down and discussed it, but we worked together afterward. Sometimes you don’t even have to say the words. That’s the gentlemanly way to resolve issues.”
