Mumtaz recall that Yash Chopra proposed her 1000 times for marriage; Why he refused despite having a ‘close relationship’ here

Mumtaz recently opened up a low-term chapter of his life which included late famous filmmaker Yash Chopra. In an interview with Vicky Lalwani, she revealed how Chopra, despite her smiling, was never a person with whom she could imagine a romantic future.

Mumtaz shared that Yash Chopra, at that time, was working as an assistant to his brother B B Chopra, was deeply fond of him. He often visited his home, expressed his love and asked him to marry. Recalling those moments with warmth and clarity, Mumtaz said with love to tell him, “O Moti, I Love You Yaar, marry me.”

He said, “Not once, he must have asked me 1000 times. But I was not in love with her, so how could I marry her? I am doing exaggeration about 1000 times, but she told me on many occasions, ‘O Moti, I Love You Dar, marry me. Marry me. How can you live together as a married couple?

While he accepted Chopra’s kindness and humor, described him as a delightful person who kept laughing at the set, Mumtaz insisted that he never felt that emotional or romantic relationship with him. She explained that despite her perseverance and affection, there was no chemistry between them, she believes something that is important for a permanent relationship.

Mumtaz recalled how his mother also had a soft place for Chopra, described him as a good man when he would visit his home. He even praised his wife, who whenever Mumtaz visited his house, welcomed the guests warmly.

Given the passing of the filmmaker in 2012, shortly before its release under his last direction, when Tak Hai Jaan, Mutz became emotional. She was in London when she received the news of her death, and she still recalls the phone call she asked her that she would see her upcoming film. He became very sad due to his passing.

During the later conversation with her daughter -in -law, actress Rani Mukherjee, Mutz was reminded of Chopra’s desire, which she had to visit Yash Raj Studio. Although she wanted to respect that wish, she felt that it would be unfair to ask for the tour now.

Although Yash Chopra’s feelings never came into a relationship for him, Mutz kept memories of his memories. She also revealed that she was romantically prepared for actors Rajesh Khanna and Shammi Kapoor, although things did not work with her.
