In his annual communication, Ambani highlighted the performance of Jio Studios over the past three years and claimed that the company has delivered the highest-grossing film every year. woman 2 (2024), stalwart (2025) and Dhurandhar: Revenge (2026).

He also pointed to what he described as the franchise’s unusual production and release model. Ambani claimed, “Never before in the world, let alone India, had a film franchise been conceived, financed and shot in two parts and released so close to each other.”

Ambani further described the franchise’s box office performance as historic, saying that the first part became the highest-grossing Indian film of all time, before the sequel performed even better. He said, “The first part in itself created a record of becoming the highest-grossing Indian film of all time. The film performed for an unprecedented 15 consecutive weeks, until the second part hit the theaters amid huge anticipation and broke the record set by the first film.”
His praise for the franchise comes at a time when Ranveer Singh is facing scrutiny from certain sections of the film industry over his decision to quit the film don 3. FWICE had earlier announced a non-cooperation direction against the actor, but the body has now canceled it.
Speaking at a press conference, FWICE President Ashok Pandit said, “After our last press conference, we reached out to other film bodies to seek their support. We received responses from IMPAA and the Producers Guild of India. Keeping in mind their appeal and the larger interests of the film industry, we are immediately rescinding the direction against Ranveer Singh.” However, the dispute between Ranveer Singh and Farhan Akhtar is still unresolved.
