Mouni Roy shared a post for ‘younger sister’ Disha Patani, later deleted it
Mouni Roy had called Disha Patani her “younger sister” in a post which she later deleted. The timing attracted attention as Disha had recently faced trolling over rumors of Mouni’s separation from Sooraj Nambiar.
Actresses Mouni Roy and Disha Patani’s friendship is in the news again, this time because of a since-deleted Instagram post that instantly caught the internet’s attention.
On Tuesday, Mouni shared a glamorous picture with Disha on social media and called her her “little sister” in the caption. The actor later deleted the post, but not before the screenshots started circulating online, especially amid the ongoing buzz about Mouni’s separation from businessman Sooraj Nambiar.
In the now-deleted post, Mouni wrote, “Missing my little sister! Come back soon x @dishapatani.”

While the reason behind the deletion of the post is unclear, its timing has raised eyebrows online as Disha had recently found herself at the center of trolling linked to speculations about Mouni and Sooraj’s relationship.
In the picture, Mouni posed in a black cut-out mini dress with sneakers, while Disha kept it sporty and casual in a white sports bra, oversized denims and a white cap.
The post was also shared on Reddit.
For fans who follow their social media closely, the two actors have had a close relationship for a long time. From luxury holidays abroad to stylish photoshoots and party appearances, Mouni and Disha are often seen together online and off.
However, their friendship recently became the subject of unwanted speculations when several social media users baselessly accused Disha of being responsible for the alleged rift between Mouni and Sooraj. Following the backlash, Disha reportedly disabled comments on some of her social media posts after receiving hate messages from the internet.
Suraj Nambiar issued clarification
On May 18, Sooraj publicly addressed the rumors and strongly denied all speculations regarding their separation.
“The recent baseless news about our separation is ill-intentioned and completely malicious. Let me set the record straight once and for all. There is no alimony. There is no dispute. There is no third party involved,” he wrote on social media.
He further added, “Mouni and I have decided to separate together, with mutual respect and with full consideration for each other’s well-being. It’s true. Whatever is being reported is fictitious, and in some cases, a deliberate attempt to defame two people who have done nothing but ask to be left alone.”

Sooraj also requested people not to drag “innocent friends” into this matter. He said, “There is no truth in any of the claims being made about any of us or about any third party. It is not good to drag other people into this. Especially innocent friends who had nothing to do with this.”
Rejecting media speculation, he said that many of the narratives were published “without any verification”.
On May 14, Mouni confirmed her separation from Sooraj amid speculations about her marriage. In a joint statement shared on social media, they expressed disappointment at the “unnecessary and intrusive attention” to their personal lives and revealed that they had decided to separate.
Mouni Roy and Sooraj Nambiar got married on 27 January 2022 in Goa.
