Famous Malayalam actor Mohanlal’s mother Santhakumari passed away at the age of 90 on Tuesday at her home in Elamakkara, Kochi. According to family sources, she was undergoing treatment for age-related health problems for some time. The funeral arrangements are expected to take place in Kochi in the presence of close relatives. More information regarding the funeral is still awaited.

Santhakumari stayed with Mohanlal at his residence and took care of him during his illness. Despite the actor’s busy schedule, he was known to prioritize time for his mother, which shows their close relationship. Mohanlal’s father Viswanathan Nair died in 2005 and his elder brother Pyarilal died in 2000.

Santakumari’s health gradually deteriorated due to age-related complications, and her condition required constant medical care. His family provided support during his illness.

Mohanlal has acknowledged Santkumari’s influence on his career over the years. They played a vital role in his personal and professional development, which he has mentioned on several occasions.

The actor had earlier expressed his gratitude for being able to celebrate his achievements with his mother. Recently, Mohanlal said that it was a privilege to share the Dadasaheb Phalke Award with his mother, adding that the first person he went to meet after learning about the award was his mother.
