Mohanlal is all set to make his directorial debut with the film Barrows. The film will release in theaters on December 25 and the actor is leaving no stone unturned to promote the Malayalam fantasy film. And now, just a day before the release, Mammootty has dropped a big slogan for the film, and expects nothing but success for it.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Mammootty wrote an affectionate note for Mohanlal, calling him his ‘dear Lal’.
Praising his acting skills over the decades, the Turbo actor said, “’Barrows’ marks the directorial debut of Mohanlal, who has been thrilling and surprising us with his acting skills for so long. I am sure that the knowledge and experience he has gained during this period will be beneficial for this film. Best wishes, prayers and love to my dear son. Your very own Mammootty.”

Well, agree or not, Mohanlal and Mammootty have truly earned the title of ‘Big M’ of the Malayalam film industry. Over the decades of their respective careers, these two have shared a friendship like never before, and that continues even now.
In fact, they have even worked together in several films, all of which were massive hits, taking their friendship strong to a whole other level.
According to a report in August 2024, there is talk of Mohanlal and Mammootty working together once again after so many years. The rumor suggested that the production houses owned by the respective senior actors would join hands to produce a mega entertainer.
It was also speculated that Mohanlal would star in the film backed by Mammootty’s production house.
For those who don’t know, both the icons have worked together in many films in the past, like Athirathram, Twenty:20, Adimakal Udamakal, Vartha and more.
On the work front, apart from Barrows, Mohanlal’s next release L2: Empuraan is also lined up.
