Actor Vijay Varma, who made his mark with Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu starrer Pink in 2016, is one of the most versatile actors of the current times. Known for his work in Mirzapur, Pink and Gully Boy, Vijay is now gearing up for his upcoming series IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack. Vijay Varma recently recalled that he went through the ‘worst’ phase of his life when he had Rs 18 in his bank account. The Mirzapur actor shared that he couldn’t talk to his father at that time.
During his new interview with Shubhankar Mishra on YouTube, Vijay Verma was asked if the rumour of him having Rs 18 lakh in his bank account was true. To this Vijay agreed that the incident had indeed happened in his life.
Calling it the “lowest” phase, the Lust Stories 2 actor recalled that he could either eat a panipuri for Rs 12 or an idli for Rs 13, while he had Rs 18 in his bank balance. The host asked him why he was in that situation, as he belonged to a family that had a good income.
The Gully Boy actor said that he has stopped asking his family for money. “I was not on speaking terms with my father,” Vijay said.
“Aur mujhe kisi samajhta aadmi ne bola ki jab tak tera kiara aur basic kharcha aata rahega, tu hilaega nahin. Tere andar jo aag hai isko thoda jalna de…(A wise man told me that as long as you are getting money for rent and basic expenses, you will not move. You have a fire inside you; let it burn),” he said. Vijay remembered his state as if he had lost everything.
