British star and producer Millie Bobby Brown is adapting her bestselling debut novel, Nineteen Steps, for OTT platform Netflix, according to reports.

While official confirmation is awaited, sources told Deadline that the film will be financed by Brown under her PCMA banner. She may also star in it. According to the report, Oscar nominee Anthony McCarten will adapt the screenplay.

Nineteen Steps is a New York Times bestseller set to be released in September 2023. It is a drama based on World War II, said to be inspired by Brown’s own grandmother. The novel is co-written by Brown and Kathleen McGurl, and revolves around the character of Nellie Morris as she faces life on her own terms during the war.

On the work front, Brown was last seen in the Netflix film Damsel. She also has Netflix’s The Electric State, which also stars Chris Pratt and will be directed by the Russo Brothers.
